Black Semiconductor is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Facilities to lead the development, expansion, and operational excellence of our semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure. As one of the earliest technical leaders on the team, you will shape the facilities strategy, oversee critical utilities and cleanroom systems, and ensure our fab scales safely, reliably, and efficiently. 

You will serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related planning, operations, and strategic decisions. This role is highly cross-functional, fast-paced, and central to building a state-of-the-art fab from the ground up

Strategic Planning & Fab Infrastructure 

• Define and execute the long-term facilities roadmap forFabOne, including cleanroom expansion and critical utility systems.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of cleanroom and sub-fabinfrastructure projects.
• Ensure all facilities systems align with semiconductor manufacturing requirements and future capacity goals.

Operations, Maintenance & Reliability 

• Direct all maintenance, inspection, servicing, and repair activities across thefab.
• Establish world-class facility uptime and reliability standards.
• Drive continuous optimization of all building-related and process-critical systems (HVAC, UPW, gases, chemical distribution, waste treatment, power, etc.).

Leadership & Team Management  

• Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary Facilities team (internal and external personnel).
• Develop organizational processes, documentation standards, and operational playbooks appropriate for an early-stage fab environment.
• Manage vendor relationships, contractor oversight, and partner engineering firms.

Environmental, Utility & Waste Systems 

• Lead plant layout, site development, utility planning, and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Oversee waste management systems, including chemical waste, exhaust treatment, and recycling processes.
• Ensure our operations meet or exceed all regional environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.

Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Own end-to-end project management for all facility expansion and improvement initiatives.
• Drive technical optimization, process streamlining, and logistical systems improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Tool Install, EHS, Quality, and R&D teams to support operational readiness and scale-up

• 10+ years of experiencein semiconductor facilities management, facilities engineering, or a closely related technical leadership role (Director-level or on a clear growth path).
• Strong understanding of critical facility systemsin semiconductor fabs(e.g., HVAC, UPW, CDA, vacuum, waste treatment, power distribution).
• Demonstrated experience withcleanroom planning and execution.
• Proactive, versatile, and comfortable owning large scopes in a growing, high-change environment.
• Organized, structured, and able to lead with clarity during rapid scaling phases.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• A mindset of continuous improvement, with a willingness to challenge assumptions and contribute innovative ideas.
• Fluency inGerman and English(written and spoken).
• Bachelor’s or Master’sdegree insupply engineering (TGA), electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
