Process Technician - Cleanroom (f/m/d)

Permanent employee, Full-time · Aachen

About us
We see the semiconductor industry as a realm of possibility. We see opportunity. We see the profound impact that our graphene solutions will have in transforming the industry. We invite you to join us in driving change with our fundamentally human-centered approach, uniting bright minds around a shared vision. The vision is: Prove to everybody that you can make a fundamental change. Prove with your knowledge and skills how things can be done differently. Together, we can change the paradigm of how the world connects
About our technology
The semiconductor industry’s growing demand for more powerful chips with higher bandwidth and lower power finds its solution in our technology. We connect chips to high-throughput, low-delay computing networks. The key lies in harnessing the physical properties of graphene to combine electronic computing with photonic communication, allowing countless chips to interact almost as if they were one. Our graphene photonic innovation increases computing power and efficiency to a new order of magnitude

In short, we connect chips to create powerful and energy-efficient networks, overcoming connectivity limitations in the semiconductor industry. We deliver the graphene solution
The Role
Black Semiconductor is looking for a dedicated Process Technician – Cleanroom (f/m/d) to support our Process Integration team in advancing our graphene-based semiconductor technology. In this role, you will assist in wet-chemical processes such as graphene patterning and resist stripping in an R&D cleanroom setting

Over time, you will take ownership of the resist stripping and cleaning sequence and support associated metrology activities. As we transition toward a 300 mm manufacturing environment, this role may also evolve to include operating wet modules in our production facility
To join our team, you should be excited to
  • Independently manage the resist stripping and cleaning process for graphene
  • Support inspection and quality checks using optical microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and other metrology tools
  • Conduct routine maintenance on process tools under supervision, when applicable
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for chemicals and materials to ensure availability of stock
  • Support process control and documentation, maintaining detailed records of relevant data
  • Assist team members in general wet-chemical lab processes during the early stages of onboarding
  • With time, support the transition to 300 mm manufacturing operations
Your Qualifications
  • Educational background in physics, chemistry, technology, or a related field; vocational training (Ausbildung) or a Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working in a laboratory or cleanroom environment
  • Familiarity with wet chemistry equipment or wet benches is a strong plus
  • Prior knowledge of 2D materials or graphene processing is beneficial but not mandatory
  • High attention to detail and a conscientious approach to technical task
  • Open, honest, and reliable communication style
  • Proficiency in English is required; German is a plus but not mandatory
"If you’re passionate about the role but don’t meet every single qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply. Your unique experience and motivation may be exactly what we’re looking for"
